A specialist Ultra Violet Polarisation imaging camera is mounted to our drone which is then able to fly over an oil slick and provide information about its boundary’s, thickness and location. It records solar UV reflections from of oil slicks, and these reflections are not reliant on the temperature difference between the water and oil.
As a result, very thin layers of oil spill can be detected – as thin as 0.1 microns. The camera will record the inspection for future analysis and reporting. The drone camera streams clear and sharp video of the scanned area.
